we can assume this means Dick owns Jane.
someone gave Dick a starting gun
to startle Jane like a warren of rabbits.
see Jane jump like a lucky rabbit’s foot.
Dick is said to be flamboyant.
see Dick’s flamboyance like everything
depends upon a good supply of bleach.
see Dick dip his hat in bleach.
now Dick’s hat is good.
see Dick dip his heart in bleach.
now Dick’s heart is pure.
see Dick dip his wick.
now Dick is the savior
of Everyman.
when Dick says Jane is barren
we are to assume if barren, then virgin.
Dick’s virginity is entirely hypothetical.
see Dick take pics of his hypothetical virginity.
see Dick send Jane unsolicited Dick pics.
if pressed, he’ll say Jane asked for it.
someone sold Dick an ending gun.
it wasn’t Jane. it plainly wasn’t Jane.
in assuming Dick can be taken at his word
or that barren equals virgin equals asking for it,
Dick becomes the messiah.
Dick, the messiah, names the fraud, the sum
& the holy roller in his manifesto.
of course there’s
a Dick manifesto.
there always is.
someone loaned Dick
a tricked out truck.
it wasn’t Jane.
someone gave Dick gas
money to go to El Paso.
it still wasn’t Jane.
it’s a matter of suits soaked in agave nectar.
it’s because Dick can’t light Jane on fire
like a funeral pyre without kindling or a spark.
Dick drives to Walmart.
see Dick drive.
Dick shoots shoppers.
see Dick shoot
one by one or in a spray.
Dick is on a spree.
see shooting spree.
Dick plucks Jane’s eyes out &
puts them on his tongue like honey
suckle stamens or prophetic pearls.
see Dick swallow.
Dick pulls ghosts from Jane
just like lies will do.
see Dick pick the dead
from Jane’s arroyos
like a coupon collector with
a virgin Sunday paper.
